Reservoir to end water shortage

Water shortage problems are finally being solved at Vaalwater.

According to Thabang Selemela, the water service manager from Modimolle, water shortages have been a major issue for the Mabatlane region the last couple of years.

A 3,3 mega litre reservoir has been built in the region to help with the supply of water to the area. The area has received only 50%of the required amount of water thus far.

“We are excited to announce that the end is near and that the reservoir will be up and running by the end of June,” said Selemela.

The reservoir has been erected to store more water and to meet the required demands of the area. It is currently going through the final tests before commissioning may commence.

Selemela also mentioned that the reservoir is the biggest of its kind in the area and that they will be increasing the number of boreholes to supply the reservoir and to store water for future use.

The Alma region on the outskirts of Vaalwater will be the next area to receive a reservoir to help with the area’s water supply and shortage.
